Outcomes Document: Third Face to Face Meeting of the Intergovernmental and Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group (IMAG) of UNEP’s Global Environment Outlook (GEO-7)

On September 3-5, 2024, the Intergovernmental and Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group (IMAG) met to discuss the following agenda items:

1. Receive a briefing and provide advice on the GEO Budget and staffing.
2. Review and provide advice on the revised approach for the intergovernmental and expert peer review process for the GEO-7 Second Order Draft.
3. Review and provide advice on the steps for the acceptance of the main GEO-7 report and the review and approval of the GEO-7 Summary for Policy Makers.
4. Discuss and agree on the approach for providing a validation opinion from the IMAG for the GEO-7, and how best to coordinate with the MESAG validation opinion.
5. Review and agree on IMAG’s work plan up until the launch of GEO-7.
6. Receive briefings from the Indigenous Knowledge and Local Knowledge Task Force, Behavioral, Social and Cultural Task Group and Climate Change Adaptation Task Group working on GEO-7.
7. Receive briefings from the various chapter author teams of GEO-7.
8. Receive a briefing and provide advice on the progress of GEO-7 digitization.
9. Receive a briefing and provide advice on the implementation of the GEO supporting services.
