Background note on the Interdisciplinary Expert Committee

This background note has been prepared by the interim secretariat of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution (ISP-CWP) as a complement to the Overview of issues outstanding in the draft rules of procedure of the Plenary of the ISP-CWP (ISP-CWP/ITM/1/INF/2). This note relates specifically to the section of the draft rules of procedure on the Interdisciplinary Expert Committee (IEC), namely draft rules 21 to 29 in ISP-CWP/ITM/1/2. This note is intended solely to provide background and clarification and does not introduce new substantive proposals or issues for consideration.
