First draft, August 2023 Ministerial declaration for the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly “Effective, inclusive, and sustainable multilateral actions to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution” - Colombia

This document contains Colombia’s inputs on the first draft ministerial declaration for the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly. It recalls the three planetary crises of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution and calls for integrated, science-based, rights-based and gender-responsive action. It proposes textual changes and additions on equity, women in all their diversity, just transitions, chemicals and waste, plastic pollution, disaster risk reduction, finance, and digital transformations. It also suggests stronger references to regional cooperation, including regional seas conventions and action plans, and to reform of the international financial architecture to better support environmental and development outcomes.
