Validated Terminal Review of the UNEP / GEF Project “Building core capacity for the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) and relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Mauritania” (GEF ID 9747) 2018 – 2023

This report is a management-led Terminal Review of a UNEP/GEF project implemented between 2018 and 2023. The project's overall development goal was to strengthen Mauritania’s capacity for environmental information and knowledge management for the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of MEAs and relevant SDGs. The review sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency) and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The review has two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, GEF, and the relevant agencies of the project participating country.
