CANADA’s preliminary views on the UNEA-7 Ministerial Declaration- February 2025

This document presents Canada’s preliminary views on the UNEA-7 Ministerial Declaration in response to questions from the Presidency. It calls for a robust, ambitious and comprehensive declaration addressing climate change, biodiversity loss, land degradation and pollution, while reaffirming and accelerating existing international commitments. It recommends drawing on GEO7, the Global Environmental Data Strategy, and recent IPBES assessments.
