Partnership Policy

The purpose of the United Nations Environment Programme Partnership Policy (2024) is to facilitate innovative partnerships with a broad range of partners, enabling the United Nations Environment Programme and its administered multilateral environmental agreements to act as catalysts for transformative environmental action. The policy establishes structured processes to support collaboration, minimise duplication, and ensure effective and transparent decision-making. It integrates internal controls and risk management mechanisms into procedures, templates, and tools, promoting accountability across all partnership stages. The policy aims to strengthen the organisation’s role as a strategic partner, enhance regulatory frameworks, scale up best practices, and support the delivery of nature-positive solutions across sectors while ensuring partnerships are systematically managed and aligned with sustainable development objectives.
