Workshop Report - Promoting Policy Coherence for Environmental Governance in the Climate and Nature Nexus: Pacific Subregional Workshop

The workshop aimed to enhance capacities in the Pacific for integrating climate change and biodiversity objectives into coherent policy frameworks and coordinated national and regional actions. Discussions focused on the science-policy interface, sharing national experiences, practical tools and guidelines for integrated planning, and strengthening regional cooperation mechanisms. Technical sessions, panel discussions, and group exercises explored approaches to align national strategies such as National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs), Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), and to harmonise reporting obligations under multiple multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs).
