Note from the Co-Chairs Regarding the Final Round of Intergovernmental Consultations on Nature-based Solutions

Note from the Co-Chairs in advance of the final round of the consultations. This document sets out the purpose and main features of the intergovernmental consultations on nature-based solutions in Nairobi, to support the implementation of nature-based solutions under UNEA Resolution 5/5. It recalls three tasks: compiling examples of best practice, assessing existing and potential proposals, criteria, standards and guidelines to address divergences and achieve a common understanding, and identifying options for supporting sustainable investment. It describes plenary, regional and global consultations, six panel discussions with experts and representatives, and a consultative process. It explains that a Co-Chairs’ Summary will present a summary, recommendations, and an annexed guide to resources prepared by UNEP.
