Abstract

This resolution sets out an international framework to address the widespread poisoning of migratory birds, which significantly threatens their conservation status. It outlines the need to prevent, reduce, and control poisoning from sources such as pesticides, veterinary substances, and lead use, while recognising socio-economic contexts. The document establishes guidelines, promotes coordinated action among governments, industries, and stakeholders, and emphasises monitoring, research, and capacity building. It also defines institutional roles, including a dedicated working group, to support implementation, improve knowledge, and strengthen policy responses across affected regions and flyways.
