Abstract

This strategy, Regional Strategy for the Control of Invasive Lionfish in the Wider Caribbean, outlines a regional approach to managing the spread and impacts of invasive lionfish. It examines their distribution, effects on marine ecosystems and fisheries, and existing management responses. The strategy addresses prevention, early detection, rapid response, control, monitoring, research, public awareness, capacity building, and information sharing. It also considers institutional arrangements and regional cooperation. Its purpose is to provide a coordinated framework for countries and stakeholders to manage invasive lionfish and reduce their ecological and socioeconomic impacts.
