Recognizing that the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals is threatened by an array of escalating and mutually reinforcing environmental risks, and that, given the linkages between climate change, loss of biodiversity, land degradation, and air, water and soil pollution, it is essential to address these problems in an integrated manner consistent with the mandates and priorities of existing multilateral environmental agreements.
