Validated Terminal Review of the UNEP/GEF Project “Establishing a Functional Environmental Information System for the Synergistic Implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) for Iraq” GEF ID 9744 (2018 – 2024)

This report is a management-led Terminal Review of a UNEP/GEF project implemented between 2018 and 2024. The project's overall development goal was to enhance Iraq’s capacity to monitor and report on Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) through a well-integrated and functional environmental information system. The review sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency) and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The review has two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, GEF, and the relevant agencies of the project participating countries.
