UNEP Publications Policy 2022 rev 1: 2024 rev: 2025

The UNEP Publications Policy, together with the UNEP Publications Guidelines, will replace all previous guidance. This policy governs the creation, dissemination and management of all ‘publications’ as defined in Annex 1. It is complimented by the UNEP Publications Guidelines, which set out detail and procedures to follow to ensure the quality, integrity and consistency of UNEP publications. This document was approved by the Senior Management Team (SMT) in their meeting of 33 October 2022, a first revision was completed in February 2024 and a second revision was completed in October 2025. The Policy will be revised as needed by the Publications Board in their bi-annual meetings. Inputs and suggestions are welcome and can be sent to unep-publications@ un.org .
