Peatlands of Asia

Asia hosts the world’s largest peatland area, from Arctic and boreal regions to temperate zones and Southeast Asia’s tropical peat swamp forests. While diverse and widespread, over 60% are degraded in some countries due to drainage, agriculture, and deforestation.
