| dc.description | This presentation outlines the Global Mercury Monitoring Project led by UN Environment’s Chemicals and Health Branch, with partners including WHO/Europe and Italy’s National Research Council. It sets two objectives: harmonize monitoring of mercury in humans and the environment, and build global analytical capacity. Three components are defined: a review of existing exposure and concentration data; a plan for ambient air monitoring; and a plan for human biomonitoring. Outputs include an atmospheric station network with a one-year pilot, harmonized biomonitoring protocols and SOPs, and site-specific surveys in China, Ghana, India, Mongolia, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan. | en |
