dc.description	This letter and registration form present the National Institute for Biological Resources of Portugal as the submitting organisation to the United Nations Environment Programme Global Mercury Partnership, expressing strong support for its objective to minimise and ultimately eliminate anthropogenic mercury releases. The institute describes its governmental research role in fisheries and marine resources, outlines long-standing expertise in mercury research focused on estuaries and coastal systems, including studies on mercury methylation, transport and biogeochemistry, and indicates its intention to contribute particularly in the area of mercury air transport and fate research through monitoring and scientific collaboration.
