This call for expression of interest invites experts to participate in developing a Regional State of the Coast report and contributing to the World Oceans Assessment report under the Nairobi Convention. During the focal points meeting held in August 2012 in Maputo, Mozambique, the contracting parties adopted an outline for preparing the World Oceans Assessment report and agreed that it would also serve as the framework for the Regional State of the Coast report. The structure comprises forty-seven chapters addressing ecosystem services, marine resources, human activities, biodiversity and overall ocean value. A regional scoping workshop will define methodology, sources, roles and timelines, producing one regional report, ten national reports and input to the global assessment, subject to peer review.en
