dc.descriptionElectricity for lighting accounts for almost 20% of electricity consumption and 6% of CO2 emissions worldwide. According to the International Energy Agency, approximately 3% of global oil demand can be attributed to lighting. If not addressed immediately, global energy consumption for lighting will grow by 60% by the year 2030. This would have dramatic consequences for climate change.
