The UNEP International Environmental Technology Centre (UNEP-IETC) has been actively engaged in raising awareness of gender issues in waste management. In 2021, it published the manual: "Incorporating Gender Dimensions into National Strategy Setting in Chemicals Management for Minamata Convention National Action Plans for Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining and Stockholm Convention National Implementation Plans". The present annex 6 covers is developed based on the information and discussion from a webinar organized to support countries, including policymakers and other stakeholders such as experts and practitioners, to better understand the nexus between waste and gender and how to mainstream gender into their national waste management strategies and policies. Speakers from four countries (Bhutan, Jamaica, Nepal, and Uruguay) shared their experiences and lessons learned.en
