dc.descriptionIn this report, we provide a preliminary assessment of the impacts of infrastructural development on the great apes, using the GLOBIO method. This work has been undertaken as part of an ongoing effort to assess the current status of great ape species, and the pressures that affect them, in support of the Great Ape Survival Project (GRASP] coordinated by UNEP In the future, we aim to refine the assessment as improved information on the status and distribution of great apes becomes available through preparation of the World Atlas of Great Apes (see Annex 2). This report should therefore be viewed as a work in progress. The editors welcome comments, suggestions and contributions as the work progresses during development of the atlas.
