dc.descriptionThe 13th Global Meeting of the Regional Seas Conventions and Action Plans was held in Busan, Republic of Korea, from 3 to 5 October 2011, at the invitation of the Northwest Pacific Action Plan (NOWPAP). The meeting brought together representatives of Regional Seas Conventions and Action Plans and partner organisations to discuss shared priorities, strengthen collaboration and exchange experiences. Discussions focused on the Inter-Governmental Review of the Global Programme of Action, the Regular Process for reporting and assessing the state of the marine environment, preparations for the Rio+20 Conference, and governance challenges and opportunities across the Regional Seas. Participants also shared updates on developments in their respective regions.
