This report distills lessons learned from countries that developed or updated National Implementation Plans under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. Using a questionnaire, workshop feedback, and evaluations, it synthesizes effective practices and common obstacles across four themes: sustaining capacity and stakeholder engagement; technical functions such as inventories, monitoring, control, remediation, and disposal; financing implementation and meeting compliance; and organizing future NIP updates. It includes targeted case studies and notes recurrent challenges, including staff turnover, limited analytical capacity, and funding gaps. The purpose is to inform Parties’ next steps in updating, executing, and measuring NIPs for effective Convention implementation.en
