dc.descriptionThe purpose of this paper is to provide an introductory review of the current status of recovery operations in terms of integrating environment and long-term disaster risk reduction. Two case studies, Myanmar and Bangladesh, have been chosen from the environmental management community’s collective experiences in addressing environmental issues in recovery processes, and are used to introduce some concrete lessons learned. The case studies are used to practically illustrate the integration of environmental concerns into recovery.en
