dc.descriptionThe Elimination of Hazardous Chemicals from Supply Chains Integrated Programme (Supply Chains IP) tackles the significant environmental footprint of the fashion and construction industries — two of the top three economic sectors driving pollution, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, land degradation and biodiversity loss. Under the sponsorship of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Ministry of Environment hosted the Launch and Inception Workshop of the GEF-8 Supply Chains IP in Siem Reap, Cambodia from 9-11 December 2024 (Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort). Over 55 attendees joined in person (See Annex 1, attached), with in attendance the GEF secretariat, project country representatives, (Cambodia, India, Mongolia, Pakistan, Costa Rica, Peru and Trinidad & Tobago), partner implementing agencies the (United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Food and Agriculture Organization on the United Nations (FAO)) and other key stakeholders.en
