dc.descriptionA National Seminar on Water Resources Development and Vector-borne Diseases was held at the Regional Training Centre, Kafue Gorge, Zambia from 6 to 10 November 1995 as part of the programme of work of the joint WHOIFAO/UNEP/UNCHS Panel of Experts on Environmental Management for Vector Control (PEEM). There were 17 participants from eleven national ministries and bodies and the Zambezi River Authority. The ministries presented papers on their perspective of incorporating human health safeguards into water resources development projects. The results of a health impact assessment study in Zambia was also presented. In the present document, the recommendations of this seminar are presented, followed by detailed seminar proceedings and unabridged versions of the papers presented.en
