This document compiles papers derived from the sixth course on international environmental law-making and diplomacy, held 28 June–10 July 2009 at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi and at Lake Naivasha, Kenya. It centers on environmental governance and is organized into four parts. Part I addresses general governance theory and national implementation of multilateral agreements. Part II examines post-conflict governance in Rwanda, United Nations institutional reform, climate law adaptation, biodiversity coordination via TEMATEA, and the Aarhus Convention’s procedural rights. Part III analyzes roles of major groups, gender, national environmental tribunals, and alliance dynamics in negotiations.en
