GEO-7 Intergovernmental and Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group (IMAG) Meeting Summary, April 3, 2025

The Intergovernmental and Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group (IMAG) met for its sixteenth virtual call to discuss the following agenda items: 1. Review and feedback on the progress in responding to the SOD comments. 2. Review and feedback on the updated SPM timeline. 3. Review and feedback on the draft validation report of the IMAG. 4. Any Other Business. On these items the IMAG decided: That the assessment co-chairs will update the IMAG if there are any further challenging issues while revising the draft report; The IMAG agreed with the revised SPM timeline, its clarity and strategic sequencing; That the final IMAG validation opinion report will be completed once the SPM review editing element is added in September 2025; The IMAG will submit comments on the updated validation opinion draft report by Thursday 17th April at 5pm EAT; That the Secretariat will prepare a new version of the draft validation opinion report by the next IMAG meeting; The Secretariat will prepare a comparative document outlining the options for presenting the GEO-7 SPM during the negotiation and approval meeting in November for IMAG’s next call; That the Secretariat will share a doodle for the joint IMAG and MESAG meeting for June 2025; That the next IMAG meeting will be on 8th May.
