Report of the Fourteenth Conference of the Contracting Parties (cop14) to the Abidjan Convention

The fourteenth Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP14) to the Convention for Cooperation in the Protection, Management and Development of the Marine Environment and Coastal Areas of the Atlantic Coast of West, Central and Southern Africa (Abidjan Convention) was held in Nouakchott, Islamic Republic of Mauritania, from May 21st to 23rd 2025. The meeting, with the theme ‘’Towards a resilient Atlantic Coast: Enhancing cooperation for the sustainable development of marine and coastal areas and the resilience of our coastal communities’’, was organized in compliance with Article 17 of the Abidjan Convention, which stipulates that the Contracting Parties shall convene in ordinary session every two or three years. 2.
