dc.descriptionThis study demonstrates that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) use in Sudan is on a slow ascendancy, due in particular to government incentives, investment by LPG companies in distribution infrastructure and dissemination efforts made by private, public and non-governmental organizations. LPG use remains, however, concentrated in the central region of the country. This has been attributed to high population density, the high price of woodfuel, greater awareness and infrastructure development. This report evaluates the efforts to date to support the adoption of LPG use across the country, and looks to highlight the constraints currently blocking its widespread use.The study analyses a range of case studies of LPG promotion initiatives across Sudan, recognizes the main barriers for the widespread national use of LPG, and proposes recommendations.en
