Through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), countries are working to address this issue through REDD+, which encompasses five activities: reduction of emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, conservation of forest carbon stocks, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks.en
