This synthesis report summarizes lessons from the United Nations Environment Programme Green Economy and Trade Opportunities Project, which identifies trade opportunities linked to the transition to a green economy. It draws on research and case studies from Chile, South Africa, Peru, Ghana and Viet Nam covering agriculture, biodiversity-based trade, solar energy and fisheries. It examines sustainability standards, organic farming, biotrade initiatives and aquaculture certification. Findings show that trade can support sustainable development, social inclusion and poverty reduction through emerging green value chains, with opportunities in sustainable agriculture, biodiversity products, renewable energy exports and improved fisheries certification systems.en
