dc.descriptionSTAP’s report to the Eighth GEF Assembly, “Accelerating transformation in turbulent times,” provides an evidence-based assessment of the state of the global environment and outlines strategic pathways for the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to enhance its impact in an increasingly complex and unstable world. Drawing on the latest science and STAP’s advisory work across recent replenishment cycles, the report emphasizes the need for integrated approaches that drive systems transformation across socioecological systems. It highlights key priorities for GEF-9, including developing an evidence-based roadmap for achieving large-scale transformation, strengthening ongoing actions on innovation and risk-taking, improving policy coherence, strengthening civil society engagements, and advancing learning and adaptive management. The report also sets out how STAP will evolve its role to better support the GEF in delivering durable global environmental benefits at scale.
