dc.descriptionNumerous initiatives and commitments have emerged in recent years in response to climate change, together with an increasing number of diverse sources of climate finance. The need for the private sector engagement has also been frequently highlighted to bring in additional finance and diversify financial instruments needed to close the gap in climate finance. However, climate investments often seek risk-reduction mechanisms to leverage their investment, particularly on the nature-based investments that aim to tackle mitigation and provide adaptation benefits because these often entail high risks, high cost and uncertain returns. While there is large interest by the global community to find nature-based solutions to address climate change, there is a large fragmentation of the actions and funding sources leading to that goal.en
