| dc.description | The impacts of the changing climate are already being felt by communities across the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. As a result of the climate crisis, droughts – a historical feature of this regional climate – are becoming more frequent and increasingly severe. Scaling up land restoration via a cooperative and inclusive transboundary approach could help communities to adapt, while delivering both environmental and socioeconomic co-benefits at the local and regional level. This case study is part of the publication “Adaptation Gap Report 2023: Underfinanced. Underprepared. Inadequate investment and planning on climate adaptation leaves world exposed” (ISBN No: 978-92-807-4092-9). Suggested citation: United Nations Environment Programme (2023).
