Africa Environment Outlook for Business

Africa Environment Outlook for Business aims to identify and document options for strengthening the linkages between business and environmental sustainability in Africa while increasing their benefits for people, nature and economies, and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. This includes analysing sustainable consumption and production and transforming markets through four thematic sectors: sustainable agriculture, sustainable ecotourism, sustainable manufacturing, and integrated waste management. In addition, it addresses several cross-cutting areas, including water, energy, eco-innovation, sustainable trade, and labelling and standards, within the context of post-Coronavirus Disease 2019 green and more inclusive socio-economic recovery interventions. The preparation of this report adopts an integrated approach that highlights the interlinkages between the environment and opportunities for green business as its underlying theme.
