Abstract

This project has made significant progress in implementing activities under all three (3) Outputs. Capacity building programmes are focused on two (2) key areas, namely ‘mercury flow analysis’ and ‘mercury monitoring’. Training packages on these topics, which provide practical and hand-on information with multimedia files (video) to facilitate local trainings to be organized by the project partner countries, are under development and will be made publicly available. Then, trainers’ training programmes will be provided for key individuals who will be the facilitators and/or organizers of the local trainings. Project outcome: Countries increasingly generate and apply information on how to monitor and reduce mercury emissions and releases in their legislations, policies or action plans. Participating countries: Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Palau, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. Reporting Period: July 2021 - June 2022
