In the countries of this region, the increasing coastal population of residents as well as tourists has led to a heavier pollution load and resultant stress due to land-based pollution such as domestic sewage, industrial wastes, agricultural run-off end river drainage. The first of these is treated more fully in this report whilst the others are dealt with in the following reports pertaining to the mission.en
