This fact sheet is the third in a series, following Indonesia and Brazil, and provides an investor-focused overview of environmental and social opportunities and risks in the Lower Mekong Region. It summarises challenges and investment opportunities in sustainable land use, with additional consideration of marine and freshwater use, to guide private investors. Structured around four impact areas—climate, biodiversity and natural habitats, sustainable production, and livelihoods and gender—and ten opportunity areas aligned with national priorities, it examines policy frameworks, climate action, biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture and forestry, social inclusion, and financing approaches that support nature-based investments and sustainable economic development across the region.
