UNEP invites Member States to submit expressions of interest to host the global observance of World Environment Day in 2028 or 2029. World Environment Day is UNEP's longest-standing and flagship international day, bringing together governments, businesses, civil society, and millions of people around shared environmental priorities each year. Hosting offers a global platform to showcase your country's environmental leadership, highlight national priorities and initiatives, convene partners, and engage audiences worldwide. Through UNEP's global campaign, media network, and digital platforms, the host country can amplify its national story and contribute to a worldwide conversation on the environmental issues that matter most.
