dc.descriptionThis implementation plan aims to guide the work planning and delivery of the project “Project for promoting the Minamata Convention on Mercury by making the most of Japan's knowledge and experiences” according to the contractual requirements of the donor. The central idea of the project is to contribute to the early implementation of the Minamata Convention by mobilizing knowledge and experiences that Japan has accumulated, especially in the area of information exchange (Article 17), awareness and education (Article 18), and research, development and monitoring (Article 19). The project is noteworthy for its comprehensive programme designed to strengthening enabling capacity, building on the resources in Minamata city, Kumamoto, and employing technologies held by institutions in Japan.en
