dc.descriptionThe intent of this strategy, shared with the Regional Strategy for the Control of Invasive Lionfish in the Wider Caribbean Region, is to facilitate this collaboration in order to provide a framework for action to: 1. Promote collaboration between relevant actors and sectors associated with the threat and its control and management, monitoring progress through assignment of time-bound responsibilities; 2. Foster and facilitate frequent sharing of experiences, field methods and tools for research and monitoring; 3. Reduce costs and avoid duplication of efforts through the development of regional programmes with shared resources; 4. Guide the efforts of researchers, non-governmental organisations and donors through detailed programmes, initiatives and projects, in order for their investments to have maximum impact for the control of the species; 5. Ensure activities are coherent and complementary across all levels and between all sectors; 6. Devise the political activities and regulations necessary to support the strategic activities for lionfish control and management; and 7. Promote binding activities related to policy, regulations and national legislation to combat the threat of lionfish.en
