dc.description	This document examines the urgent need for rapid, system-wide change to tackle the worsening climate crisis and highlights the significant gap in global progress towards the Paris climate goals. It details how the new and updated Nationally Determined Contributions since COP26 achieve only marginal emissions reductions, with current policies likely to lead to global temperature increases far in excess of the targeted limits. The text begins with quantitative assessments of global pledges and expected temperature trends. It identifies critical gaps in emissions reductions and emphasises the need to take unprecedented action by 2030, focusing on electricity, industry, transport, buildings and food systems. The analysis outlines specific technological and behavioural changes needed in these sectors, describes strategies for food system reform, and highlights the essential role of financial system transformation to enable an effective and just global transition to low-carbon economies.
