This report is a terminal evaluation of a UNEP-GEF project implemented between 2002 and 2008. The main objective of the JGI project was to increase the efficiency of the geophysical exploration of geothermal reservoirs, and by so doing to reduce the number of costly unproductive wells. The end result of the JGI was to decrease the cost of geothermal electricity as well as to increase its production. The objective of this terminal evaluation was to examine the extent and magnitude of any project impacts to date and determine the likelihood of future impacts. The evaluation also assessed project performance and the implementation of planned project activities and planned outputs against actual results.
