This model technical standard is a supplement to the Transformer Policy Guide1 which is one of a series of United for Efficiency reports along with lighting, room air conditioners, residential refrigerators and electric motors. As is described further in the Transformers Policy Guide, United for Efficiency encourages countries to implement an integrated policy approach, which includes the following components: Standards and regulations; Supporting policies (e.g. communication campaigns); Finance and financial delivery mechanisms; Monitoring, verification and enforcement; and Environmentally sound management.
