It reviews international progress in environmental education since the 1977 Tbilisi Conference and identifies continuing environmental and educational challenges. The strategy establishes principles, objectives and actions to strengthen information exchange, research, curricula, teacher training, public awareness, technical and vocational education, university education, specialist training and international cooperation, supporting sustainable development and improved environmental management worldwide.en
