dc.descriptionThis report provides a comprehensive overview of the status of sustainability reporting in the large-scale mining sector with a specific focus on how governments can further support the efforts of the sector in advancing their sustainability practices and reporting. The report includes a number of examples of government initiatives, both in countries of the Group of Friends of Paragraph 47 as well as other countries where the mining industry is well established. The report offers recommendations to governments on how to further support the sustainability performance of the mining companies operating in their jurisdictions and more particularly how to support their sustainability reporting efforts. Other recommendations are also addressed to mining companies and other stakeholders.en
