dc.descriptionThis report is a terminal evaluation of a UN Environment-GEF project entitled “Mainstreaming Sustainable Management of Tea Production” that was implemented between 2014 and 2018.The project's overall aim was to reverse land degradation and to improve farm management practices so existing production land would become more productive, and forests, rivers, wetlands and other biologically important land adjacent to tea production areas would be protected. The project intended to achieve this in five major tea-producing regions in Asia by training and supporting farmers to apply Sustainable Land Management (SLM) practices, building knowledge and capacity among government extension officers and private sector technicians to apply these practices, facilitating wider stakeholder initiatives for Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM), and measuring results to understand the role of SLM and INRM in mitigating and reversing land degradation. The evaluation sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency), and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability.en
