NO This document describes the African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative as an input to the Nature-Based Solutions Coalition for the United Nations Climate Action Summit, outlining its purpose, context, scope, and delivery approach. It presents land degradation in Africa as a source of economic loss and increased vulnerability, and frames restoration as supporting poverty reduction, improved food and water access, biodiversity protection, and climate mitigation and adaptation. The initiative is presented as a country-led effort to restore 100 million hectares by 2030, supported through field assistance, capacity building, policy advice, experience-sharing, and monitoring. It further highlights the role of the African Union Development Agency in providing a continental perspective through its partner network, alongside coordination with country focal points and Regional Economic Communities to capture on-the-ground Forest Landscape Restoration activities.
