NO The area covered by this review is that served by the South Pacific Commission with some minor additions. It is a region of a few larger and many tiny islands, with diverse and often unique species and ecosystems, scattered across the world's largest ocean. This review aims to provide a basis for developing a protected areas system in Oceania. It looks at the conservation needs of the region as a whole, both to identify areas where rapid conservation action is needed now and to provide a basis for long-term planning.
