This analysis is based on analytical framework of Global Environment Outlook( GEO) Drivers- Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) framework. The first section serves to provide an overview of the country’s socio-economic situation as well as its current management of the environment and its resources, including the legislative and administrative approaches taken to this end. These can be regarded as historical factors that set the stage for assessing the key environmental issues which are addressed in the following seven chapters of the second section. The final section summarizes the analyses given and identifies a number of measures for ameliorating existing problems and preventing any future deterioration.
